Please express my thanks to your staff for the excellent care given to me during my recent stay in your unit. Staff checked on me often and never left my room without asking, "Is there anything else I can do for you?" My armband was checked each time and I was given explanations for all events and procedures. Your staff shows enthusiasm and pride in their work, the unit and the hospital. This enthusiasm reflects in the special attention they give to their patients. A good leader inspires a great team. You can be proud of each and everyone of yours!
Impressed With Everything!
“I wanted to take a moment and express my sincere gratitude and heartfelt “Thanks” to
the staff on the 3-South Medical floor and Lindsey Lubbering, social worker
at Capital Region Medical Center.
My Mother was recently a patient in room 374. She passed away on 2/14/2006
with complications from lung cancer. Although expected, we are never ready
to lose a loved one.
The staff on 3-South, in my opinion, is the BEST. Folks like Shannon,
Lana, Elaine, Doug, Mae and many others whose names I have forgotten were
wonderful to my Mom and our family. Mom was admitted to the hospital on
Sunday night from a fall at the nursing home where she had been staying.
After 6 hours in the emergency room, we finally got her to a room at 11:30
p.m. From the very moment she arrived on the 3rd floor until she became
pretty much non-responsive on Friday, February 10, until she passed away
on Tuesday, February 14, 2006. The staff took wonderful care of her making
sure to swab her mouth to keep it from getting too dry, turning her in
bed to prevent bed sores, bathing her, talking to her even though she wasn’t
responding and just being very kind to her and going the extra mile. They
all took their time explaining to us when we asked questions, never hesitating
to come if we needed them. They were always making sure I was comfortable
during my nights in the recliner by her bed. They are the BEST and although
I cannot remember all the names I will never forget their kindness toward
my Mom and our family. God Bless them one and all.
These are the folks that make Capital Region a hospital
I’d feel good
about being treated in. It’s not about the fancy new rooms, it’s
about the kind and caring people who know their jobs and do them well.”
“I was recently admitted as a patient to the Surgical Unit at Capital
Region Medical Center following my surgery. I would like to take an opportunity
to express my heartfelt thanks to your staff for the care I received.
Prior to undergoing surgery, I was, naturally, quite uneasy and nervous about
the procedure. The comforting care and compassion your nursing staff demonstrated
was certainly above and beyond my expectations. Elaine Fisher and the night-shift
nurse, Mitzi Napier, portrayed such skill and courtesy, and were at all times
concerned with my level of pain and comfort. Pat Schwartz also demonstrated
the same level of care, consistently making extra effort to assist in assuring
my recovery was as comfortable as possible.
It is because of the reasons listed above that I will
highly recommend Capital Region to anyone in need of medical care. I can
state with quite certainty that Capital Region will always remain my hospital
of choice.”
"I am writing to complement your entire hospital staff on jobs well done. Recently, I had the opportunity to spend time in your facility both for outpatient testing and inpatient surgery. I always found the facility to be spotless, test schedules on time, and friendly staff ready to explain procedures and provide comfort, support and directions.
Most important, the many different employees I had the opportunity to talk with told me they loved their job and liked working for Capital Region. This kind of attitude determines the kind of care patients and families are receiving. As both a patient and a health care professional, I believe you have an exceptional hospital and staff. Congratulations, you are setting the example for other hospitals to follow.
