Strong Faculty Support
Residents grow personally and professionally as faculty provide them ongoing feedback during rotations and meet with them for regular advising sessions. Close faculty-resident relationships develop and contribute to the congeniality that characterizes Capital Region family medicine.

Didactics
One of the true strong points about training at Capital Region is the didactics.  House staff have required didactics every morning.  These range from case-based presentations that facilitate enhanced learning about medical conditions to interactive lectures by faculty on current medical topics!

An Unopposed Residency
The residents at Capital Region are unopposed by any other training programs, which allows for the best possible educational experience. Central lines, lumbar punctures, endoscopic procedures, and first assist in surgeries are just a few of the advantages realized by this fact.  In addition, the size of the residency allows for close communication and teaching by the attending physicians.

Traditional Rotating Internship
Capital Region Medical Center is one of the few hospitals that continue to offer the traditional rotating internship.  This outstanding program will allow your continued growth as a physician while allowing you to sample the traditional core specialties of medicine.
