Leota Maag, RN, BSN, CDE
Leota is a graduate of Truman State University with a BS in Nursing. She has
been a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) since 1996 and has been active in diabetes
education and a member of American Association of Diabetes Educators since 1987.
Leota has worked in Columbia, MO, Tulsa, OK, and Joliet, IL before coming to
CRMC. Leota is a certified pump trainer and enjoys working with patients in
both group and individual settings.
Carol Smart
Carol joined the DMC team as Office Coordinator in June 2003. She attended Lincoln
University and has been employed with CRMC since 1981. Carol coordinates scheduling,
insurance vertification, billing and other functions for the Diabetes Management
Center.
Sarah Burbee, RD, LD
Sarah is a licensed and registered dietitian. Sarah attended the University of Missouri - Columbia and graduated with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Nutrition Sciences and Nutrition and Exercise Science. Sarah completed her dietetic internship as a part of a Coordinated Program in Dietetics through the University of Missouri in 2009. Sarah has worked at the diabetes center for one year and enjoys participating in several events for the community to raise diabetes awareness. She is also a member of the American Dietetic Association and participates in the Diabetes Educators Practice Group.
