Respiratory Therapists work to evaluate, treat and care for
patients with breathing disorders. These patients include those with chronic
lung disease such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema, but they also include
heart attack and accident victims; premature infants, and people with cystic
fibrosis, lung cancer, or AIDS.
Respiratory therapists work towards a healthier future for
all by promoting prevention, quality treatment and management of respiratory
diseases through asthma education and smoking cessation programs within the
community.
The CRMC Respiratory Care Department received recognition as
a Quality Respiratory Care Provider by the American Association of Respiratory
Care.
