The staff at Capital Region Medical Center considers the volunteer auxiliary, known as Partners, as one of the hospital’s greatest assets. The Partners use their time and talents in many ways to help the hospital better serve our community. Partners members assist the Capital Region staff by volunteering in the hospital, serving on special ad hoc committees and assume leadership roles in the Partners organization.

There are currently over 400 Partners members including over 200 members who are active volunteers. The Partners membership dedicates tens of thousands of volunteer hours to Capital Region Medical Center each year.

Scholarships

Every spring, The Partners auxiliary awards scholarships to students who are enrolled in health care programs - nursing, physical therapy, or other medical technology fields. Scholarship applications for 2008 are now available. Deadline for submitting the application is May 16, 2008. Our scholarship committee will interview qualifying applicants on June 5, 2008. You can Download Scholarship Qualifications/Application, or call Valerie Weber at 632-5032 for more information.

Who are our volunteers?

They are retired professionals who may have worked as nurses, teachers, or accountants to name just a few fields our volunteers represent. They are mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers. They are high school students interested in learning about the health care field. They are active people from all walks of life who like to lend a helping hand.

Where do our volunteers work?

They work in all areas at CRMC, including obstetrics, radiology, surgical waiting room, admissions, medical records, material management, nutrition, and the gift shops. In fact, Capital Region’s two gift shops are staffed entirely by volunteers, and they are open seven days a week!

What else does The Partners do?

The Partners supports Capital Region in may other ways. They raise money for special projects. They hold staff appreciation events throughout the year. They encourage healthy behaviors through various activities such as breast cancer awareness drives, promote child safety identification through the WHALE program, and offer scholarships to students pursuing health care degrees.
