A new space for community entertainment

CRMC and MU Health Care now sponsor Jefferson City Amphitheater

CRMC is excited to announce that we, along with MU Health Care, entered into a multi-year naming rights agreement with the City of Jefferson and VenuWorks at the new amphitheater located in Riverside/Ellis Porter Park. Effective May 21, 2021, the amphitheater formerly known as the Riverside Amphitheater became Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater. This open space seats more than 2,500 guests for concerts, comedy shows and other special events.

This partnership exemplifies the community spirit of CRMC and our affiliate, MU Health Care. We recognize that vibrant, welcoming communities where people can come together in laughter, enjoyment and fun are communities that flourish.

A press conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony were held to commemorate the announcement. Janet Weckenborg, Vice President of Operations at CRMC, and Jonathan Curtright, CEO of MU Health Care, addressed the crowd.

"One of the components to establishing a healthy community is having a safe space to enjoy and have fun, encouraging a sense of belonging and togetherness—this venue couldn’t be better," Weckenborg said at the ceremony.

Curtright, who has been a part of the Jefferson City community for 25 years, pointed out that "Jefferson City gets community—they love sports, they love culture, they love the arts, and this venue is going to do nothing but add to this."

CRMC "eagerly embraced this opportunity, as we believe projects of this nature help foster a greater sense of community, and we are thrilled to be a part of this one-of-a-kind project in Jefferson City," said Gaspare Calvaruso, Capital Region Medical Center president.

Integration into the venue will include a new logo, signage, website and social media, print and digital advertising, staff uniforms, and a first aid station. Throughout the duration of the agreement, CRMC and MU Health Care will have the opportunity to sponsor various on-site activities and special events.

As the area’s community health system, we are proud to improve the quality of life of residents here for generations to come.

"We could not be more pleased to partner with Capital Region Medical Center and MU Health Care for the amphitheater. Capital Region has been a champion of bettering the Jefferson City community above and beyond medicine. Their leadership with the Historic Southside/Old Munichburg District and Neighborhood Plan and their support of community park improvements are testaments to their investment in our community. JC Parks is proud to have their name on this venue that will have a remarkable impact on our residents and visitors."
