The mission of Capital Region Medical Foundation is to serve our community by supporting and strengthening Capital Region's mission of improving health and wellness. All of our efforts help increase the resources available at Capital Region to provide healthcare services to our community. Charitable gifts are critical to launching initiatives, acquiring new technology, providing for the underserved in our communities and ensuring excellent care for all of our patients.
Thank you for helping to advance Capital Region's mission: To improve the health and promote wellness in the communities we serve.
Below are just a few of the ways your gift can make a difference.
Each year, the Board of Trustees choose an initiative to focus on for their annual fund campaign. For 2021, the campaign will raise funds for the Goldschmidt Outpatient Surgery Center.
Located on the ground level of the Capital Region Physician’s office building, the new 24,000 square foot addition will house four operating rooms, two endoscopic procedure rooms, and space to accommodate for future growth. All pre-and post-procedure rooms will be private and thoughtfully designed with a patient-centered approach.
The decision to expand services in an outpatient setting is part of CRMC’s commitment to continued innovation. By allowing more surgeries and procedures to be conducted on an outpatient basis, patients can recover in the comfort of their own surroundings.
“We have been discussing at length, for more than a year, about the need to expand our surgical capacity within our organization,” stated Gaspare Calvaruso, CRMC president. “While we had the opportunity to expand our OR on the inpatient side, we took a step back and recognized the greater benefit to our community would be the enhancement of our outpatient services.”
With an estimated $20 million price tag, the expansion is a significant investment in the health and wellness of mid-Missouri residents. “Our mission is to provide the best care to our community and this new expansion allows us to deliver top quality care and exceptional access to all the residents of mid-Missouri. This is truly a remarkable day for our facility, our staff and for our entire community,” added Marc Ellinger, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRMC.
“We are fortunate to have the ability to keep the outpatient surgery center adjacent to the hospital and physician’s office building,” noted Randy Haight, M.D., CRMC vice president of medical affairs. “The close proximity allows providers to consult with one another easily and eliminates the need for off campus travel. Additionally, CRMC did not have the added cost of purchasing real estate to move forward on this endeavor.”
The project is underway and completion is expected mid-2022.
The Capital Region Medical Foundation works every day to bring advanced healthcare benefits to the patients and families we serve in our community.
