History
In the era of organizing golf tournaments to raise money for various causes, Capital Region Medical Foundation has been able to maintain a unique niche in the mid-Missouri area with regards to its golf tournament, the Bill and Shirley Quigg Memorial.
The tournament is named after Bill and Shirley Quigg who, during their lives, gave endlessly to not only Capital Region, but also to the entire Jefferson City community. With Mr. Quigg passing in 1997, Capital Region saw the golf tournament as a way to pay tribute to him and continue his legacy of giving. The tournament was renamed in 2014 to honor Shirley, who was a lifetime board of governors member. She also served as Honorary Chair of the golf tournament and worked hard to help bring the tournament the success it has enjoyed since its inception.
Funds raised through the Bill and Shirley Quigg Memorial Golf Tournament are used for a specific project each year at Capital Region—a project that the Foundation and the Medical Center feel can touch the most lives and, as Mr. and Mrs. Quigg did, affect someone's life in a positive way. We know Mr. and Mrs. Quigg would be proud of the commitment and loyalty of everyone who supports this special event and, most importantly, of our dedication to ensuring the very best healthcare for the people and families in our community.
