In partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, Capital Region offers this group for family members and caregivers of those with dementia. This support group is provided free of cost and is open to the public providing an opportunity for family members and caregivers to meet and develop a mutual support system that will help maintain the health and well-being of its members. Members share feelings, needs, and concerns in a confidential, safe, supportive, non-threatening and non-judgmental environment.

The Better Breathers Club is designed to offer patient-centered and community-based educational opportunities and support to persons with chronic lung disease (especially COPD, but also asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, and other chronic lung diseases) and their families, friends, and support persons. The goal of the Better Breathers Club is to improve the quality of life and functional status of members by providing disease-specific education and emotional connection which may prevent exacerbations requiring medical care, thereby reducing the health, economic and social burden of lung disease.

The Encouragement Through Caring (ETC) group was established in 1989 in Jefferson City by women diagnosed with breast cancer. The meetings and activities are designed to offer support to breast cancer patients and their family members. The group participates in monthly meetings with guest speakers, Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities and fundraising efforts for the Relay for Life and Boost BBQ.

The Happy Achiever's Stroke Support Group is available for survivors and others interested in increasing the understanding of the emotional, social and educational needs of stroke survivors. Research has pointed to the fact that recovery after stroke is more complete and faster with a strong support system, and we want to help make that happen.
The group is open to anyone: stroke survivors, caregivers, and members of the community. Different topics are discussed and presented each month.

The Heart-to-Heart Support Group is for cardiac and pulmonary patients as well as their families, friends and caregivers, We offer educational programs to help participants face the challenges of altered lifestyles including how to make physical and emotional adjustments. Share your experiences while giving and getting emotional support.

The Parkinson's Support Group is available for those with the disease or for anyone who is interested in learning more about it. A variety of guest speakers have met with the group about topics such as: nutrition, exercise, articulation problems and dysphagia, leisure education, drug interventions, and the mind-body connection to health and wellness.

Here at Capital Region Medical Center, we believe Hope matters, especially as we journey through times of loss and grief. Wings of Hope, CRMC is a program designed specifically for families whose precious baby has come and gone from this earth much too quickly.
