Capital Region Medical Center is pleased to welcome Harathi Bandaru, MD, to Capital Region Physicians – Neurology with vast clinical experience of almost 16 years.
Dr. Bandaru received her medical degree from Andhra Medical College, India in 2006. She has a master of science from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internal medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Medical Center, affiliated with Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. She is board-certified in internal medicine and practiced for many years as an internist.
Dr. Bandaru completed her neurology residency at Texas Tech University of Health Sciences of El Paso, TX. As a neurologist, Dr. Bandaru has excellent clinical experience in stroke coverage and management of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, as well as management of multiple sclerosis, movement disorders like Parkinson’s, dystonia and tremors, epilepsy, migraines (Botox), dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Among many awards and accomplishments, the most recent are the Outstanding Physician Award for the year 2021 in Texas and Best Teaching Physician award - won consistently the last three years from 2019-2021.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bandaru is a prize-winning runner and a cultural dancer. She has appeared in three international cultural dance performances, which were held in Pennsylvania, New York and Texas. She and her family are new to the area and plan to reside in Columbia.
