Chaplain services
At Capital Region Medical Center, we believe the most effective care encompasses the whole person: physical, emotional and spiritual. We realize that being hospitalized may raise questions, doubts, worries or fears. Chaplain Tammy is available to listen, to provide emotional and spiritual support, to offer comfort, and to pray with you. She will also be glad to offer or arrange for your religious or sacramental needs. At your request, she will contact your minister/priest/rabbi/spiritual guide. In short, your spiritual health is very important to us! When your spirit is in need, when you are seeking hope or when peace feels far away, your hospital chaplain's caring presence is available. You may contact the hospital chaplain or the catholic priest chaplain through your nurse. We also invite you to spend time in our hospital chapel, located on the second floor near the hospital entrance.
A chaplain is available 24 hours a day. The hospital staff chaplain is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and may be contacted at 573.632.5000, ext. 5035. A volunteer on-call chaplain is available nights and weekends for emergencies. Your nurse can access the chaplain on call. Worship services are conducted during special religious holidays.
Medications
The only medications you will receive at the hospital are those that have been prescribed by your physician and distributed by the hospital pharmacy. Please do not bring your own medications unless approved by your physician. If you have any medications with you upon admission, please give them to the nurse.
Notary services
The services of a notary public are available without charge from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Arrangements for these services are made by calling the social work department at 573.632.5000, ext. 5493.
