Unique by Design
The Cancer Wellness Program was developed by physical therapists and exercise specialists who have special training in designing exercise programs for people who are or have been treated for cancer. Participants will receive education on all facets of health, from diet and exercise to emotional and social support.
Bringing the Best Together
This 12-week program is designed for cancer patients and survivors. It is a collaborative effort between the cancer center, certified staff at the Sam B. Cook Healthplex and the American Cancer Society. The program is led by an exercise physiologist certified in cancer wellness by the American College of Sports Medicine. A physician referral and physical therapy evaluation is a prerequisite to this program. Upon completion of the physical therapy program, the participant qualifies for the Cancer Wellness Program.
