Osteopathic Manipulation & Medical Acupuncture
Osteopathic manipulative treatment, or OMT, involves using the hands to diagnose, treat and prevent illness or injury. Using OMT, Dr. Todd McCluskey moves the patient’s muscles and joints using techniques including stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. OMT can be used to ease pain, promote healing and increase overall mobility. It is often used to treat muscle pain, but it can also help patients with a number of other health problems including asthma, sinus disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome, migraines and menstrual pain.
Along with OMT, Dr. McCluskey also practices Medical Acupuncture, which is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for numerous ailments including, but not limited to headaches, joint pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, back pain, sinuses and allergies.
