Jared James, MD, is a board-certified family medicine doctor who has nearly a decade of experience providing primary care, preventative care and addiction medicine care for people of all ages in a family practice setting.

Dr. James is excited to practice in Jefferson City, where he has family, and join MU Health Care, where he can help coordinate his patients’ access to excellent specialty care. His care philosophy focuses on the needs of each person, offering education and treatment options that extend patients’ lives or improve their quality of life.

Dr. James and his wife have several wonderful children, and he enjoys spending time with his immediate and extended family in Jefferson City. His hobbies include biking, kayaking and woodworking.

Jared James, MD, FAAFP, is a family medicine physician and researcher who focuses his clinical efforts on building longitudinal relationships with patients and their families by providing complete primary care, preventative care and addiction medicine treatments.

Addiction medicine is also his research focus. Dr. James is interested in opioid tapering and precipitated withdrawal prevention when treating opioid withdrawal and opioid use disorders.
